Ni translokas la Centran Oficejon de Esperanto-USA de Kalifornio al Majno.

Ĉi tiun translokiĝon ni anoncis ĉe nia Landa Kongreso en Seatlo en Julio, refere la novaĵojn en nia Jarraporto. La translokiĝo espereble finiĝos en Novembro. La direktoro de la Centra Oficejo, Vilĉjo Harris, rolis tre efike laborante kunlabore kun la estraro de Esperanto-USA por fari ĉi tiujn planojn de monŝparado kaj progreso ekagante.

La multekostaj oficejoj, kiujn ni luis en la Golfa Regiono de Sanfrancisko estis uzataj pro la furora bezono de Esperantaj libroj kaj materialoj. En la fruaj jaroj de ELNA (La Esperanto-Ligo por Nordameriko) William kaj Cathy Schulze funkciigis la libro-servon el sia hejma aŭtomobilejo. Ĉar la populareco de Esperanto pliiĝis, fariĝis evidente, ke vera oficejo estis necesa por stoki la librojn. Ĉi tio estis antaŭ la tagoj de Amazon, EBay, kaj aliaj interretaj fontoj.

Hodiaŭ esperantistoj pli probable serĉas librojn ĉe Amazon. Esperanto-USA nun uzas la servon de Amazon por vendi la plej kutimajn librojn. Nun ekzistas multaj Esperantaj varoj en Amazon, kiuj antaŭe okupis spacon en nia Centra Oficejo. Nun, pro tio, ke ni ne plu bezonas la grandan spacon por librostokado en la Centra Oficejo, ni povas transloki la oficejon al la hejmo de nia Direktoro Vilĉjo Harris en Majno. Ĉi tiu translokiĝo konservos proksimume $30,000 jare, kio similas al la jara deficito, kiun ni spertis en la pasinteco.

Rimarku, ke dum mallongaj tempoj la librejo ne akceptos mendojn dum ni translokos la oficejon, do havu paciencon en la venontaj monatoj.

We are moving the Central Office of Esperanto-USA from California to Maine.

This move was announced at our Landa Kongreso in Seattle in July, reflecting the news in our annual report (Jarraporto). The move will hopefully be completed in November. The Director of the Central Office, Vilĉjo Harris, has been instrumental in working closely with the board of Esperanto-USA to make these cost-saving plans and put them into action.

The expensive office spaces that we have been renting in the San Francisco Bay Area have been used due to the demand for Esperanto books and materials. In the early years of ELNA (The Esperanto League for North America) William and Cathy Schulze operated the book service out of their garage. As the popularity of Esperanto increased, it became evident that an office space was needed to house the stock of books. This was before the days of Amazon, EBay, and other online sources.

Esperanto speakers and learners are today more likely to search for books at Amazon. Esperanto-USA is now using Amazon fulfillment for most book sales. There are now many Esperanto products on Amazon which were previously taking up space and being sold at our Central Office. Now that we have much less of a demand for storage in the Central Office, we can move the office to the home of our Director, Vilĉjo Harris. This move will save us about $30,000 per year, which is about the same as the annual deficit we have been running in the past.

There are also extra books that we would like to sell quickly from the Central Office. These are available at the bargain price of only $3.00. These are books that are not part of our normal stock that have been in our inventory for years. Help us out by getting some gems from this treasure bin.

Note that there may be some short periods of time when the bookstore will not accept orders while we are moving the office, so have patience for us while we move.
