In Esperanto, -aŭ isn’t a suffix. It’s not an ending you can add to a root to create a new word. It’s just a characteristic ending for several words in Esperanto that are in different grammatical categories.

The words hieraŭ, hodiaŭ, and morgaŭ can function either as adverbs (“Mi venos morgaŭ”) or nouns (“Morgaŭ estos bela tago, ĉu ne?”).

Because these words are complete roots, they can take additional endings. So you can have words like: anstataŭulo, antaŭe, and hodiaŭa.
