Nun ni bezonas novajn aktivulojn, no- vajn vizaĝojn helpi la usonan junularon atingi eĉ pli da sukcesoj. A changing of the guards will take place this August when the . new board. of USEJ begins its 1995-1997 term. . .and we're looking for the qualified people to fill those positions. If you think you have the ener- gy, enthusiasm, and dedication to help bring USEJ closer to the 21st century, you should consid- er becoming a candidate for the board. As a board member, you'll collaborate with the other six members to strengthen USEJ through new ideas and projects. To become a candidate, you should: 1) be 16 to 25 years old (as of August 1995); 2) be a USEJ member for at least one year by August 1995: 3) speak, read, and write Esperanto fairly well; 4) attempt to remain within North America as much as possi- ble during the next 4wo years, so that you can be contacted easily. Don't let this dissuade you from running; this simply means that if you are going to be working in, for example, Antarctica the next two years, you couldn't run this time. . . sorry.) . You should definitely have time on your hands if you want to be a board member. You won't be working everyday 9 to 5, but you will sometimes need to spend several hours to work on USEJ affairs, Most of the ac^ tual board work occurs via mail and occasionally phone and e- mail; you may also be asked to select one particular area to con- centrate on (for example, local clubs, TEJO relations, etc). Re- imbursements will be provided as needed for any costs. Being an USEJ board member is a unique chance to work. hands-on for a national youth or- ganization. Your work will.have effects, not only on Esperantists from Washington to Florida,.but also in Belgium, Canada, Iran ... few other organizations give you such an opportunity. Plus, you'll be able to showcase and use your talents through your work, whether you're a budding artist, a clever salesperson or a meticu- lous researcher. If you're' interested, write to USEJ's CO for a candidate form as. soon as possible. The final list of candidates will be com- piled in mid-April, so get your request out soon! 0t La "Sunluma Stato" Florido nun havas propran tutŝtatan Es- perantan ligon, danke al la klopodoj de USEJ-aktivulo tie, Guy Menahem. Once again, USEJ will be there and a youth program is planned. Hopefully, since the Northeast is the home to a large number of USEJ members, we can expect a fairly good crowd of young Es- perantists. Through a clerical error at the United Nations, Minoestica is adopted as an international language.
