DENMARK USES ESPERANTO FOR INFORMATION <S  TOURISM
Denmark is noted not only for its beauty and hospitality to those
who travel or vacation there, but also for its use of Esperanto in many
fields of endeavor. Esperantists who travel to Denmark find an unend-
ing source of cultural enlightenment and social enjoyment through con-
tacts made with samideanoj who use and speak the international auxil-
iary language.
The Esperanto movement is proud of the fact that Denmark is one of
the advanced countries using Esperanto for information and tourism.
The government's Ministry for Foreign Affairs often utilizes tourist lit-
erature in Esperanto, which is sent throughout the world. This litera-
ture is of the finest quality, and for the most part richly illustrated.
The following few specimen pages are extracted from a 32-page tourist
book about Denmark (Danio) printed a few years ago in the international
language.
A new item in Esperanto entitled "Danio en Bildoj" consists of over
59 wonderful pictures in rich colors, showing all phases of life in Den-
mark. It is accompanied by detailed descriptions of all pictures. We
are indebted to the Royal Danish Consulate General in San Francisco
for enough copies of this beautiful colored "picture-gallery" about Den-
mark, to supply paid up members of EANA, and possibly those who send
their renewals promptly; (see the enclosed Bulletin which accompanies
this send-out).
Incidentally, excellent books are published by Esperanto publishers
in Denmark, among which is the extraordinarily lovely fable by H. C.
Andersen, "The Mermaid" (La Marvirineto), pictured on the front page
of this small specimen issue of "AE".

We wish to take this opportunity to thank you, our members, who have stood by us and the EANA during
the past difficult year and a half.   Serious illness greatly curtailed the work of the Central Office, but we
are happy to say that Alan has recover<d and is back at work for Esperanto.   A good deal of work was done
by Doris T. Connor, but it was impossible to publish the expanded American Esperanto Magazine during
Alan's illness.   We have constantly repeated that we shall fully recompense all members for their loyalty
and patience despite missing issues of the magazine.  This bulletin presents the manner in which we now
propose to reward our members who renew their memberships.  This is indeed the time to join together for
Esperanto and EANA — the association organized in 1905 and never surpassed.
NEW ALL-ESPERANTO MAGAZINE FROM WEST GERMANY, "LA LANTERNO"
AND "AMERIKA ESPERANTISTO" IN ENGLISH & ESPERANTO
We have made an arrangement with the new all-Esperanto journal, La Lantemo, published in West Ger-
many, to be sent to all paid up members of EANA after January 1, 1967.  It appears six times a year; dis-
cusses culture, politics, economics, the Esperanto movement; and is the only Esperanto magazine in the
world (with the single exception of your own Amerika Esperanlisto) which freely criticises Communism and
other totalitarian ideologies.  However, a valuable feature of La Lantemo is the printing of "Letters to
the Editor" giving both sides of every conceivable viewpoint.  It is an all-Esperanto journal with a differ-
ence, which every Esperantist should read regularly.   EANA members in good standing will receive the
Jan-Feb and Mar-Apr issues of Lantemo early in June, and will continue to receive all issues as they are
published.   The arrangement with bi-monthly journal La Lantemo is in addition to our plans for a magazine
or bulletin in English & Esperanto, published as the American Esperanto Magazine (Amerika Esperantisto).
Members will therefore receive TWOoutstanding publications.   In this way we hope to more than make up
for the missing magazines in the year 1966.
