AMERICAN ESPERANTO MAGAZINE BULLETIN - JULY 1, 1963 ESPERANTO ASSOCIATION OF NORTH AMERICA, 1837 N. E. 49 AVE., PORTLAND 13, ORE. EANA IN NEW HEADQUARTERS - PUBLICATION PLANS SET EANA is now established in better quarters than ever before. If you have not already done so, please note our new address (above) and also new address of our Book Service (below). Months have passed since we sent out our last publication from New York, but we plan to fully compensate our members for their wonderful patience and understanding re the tremendous job of removal from New York to Portland, not to mention remodeling, repairs, painting, new equipment, etc. Now we are already at work on the American Esperanto Magazine, which will be our chief concern henceforth. We welcome all news of Es- peranto activity and suggestions you may have to make the best possible magazine. Much correspondence from NEW people came to us at New York address, then forwarded to us here, which we attended to the best of our ability under terrific temporary difficulties. To ALL, both old and new, we express our sincere thanks for unfailing patience. NOW we send these few lines of explanation while we prepare the first issue of AE from Portland, Oregon. Our new policy, in addition to our usual news and articles in and about Esperanto, will be one of efforts to achieve real UNITY in the divided Esperanto movement. We will present important matters of policy in a fair'and conciliatory manner, but we will not hesitate to print documented facts concerning the Esperanto movement, without fear or favor. EANA as the representative national Esperanto association, established in the year 1905, will (for example) show the HOW and WHY of the schism and division brought about in the American Esperanto movement by extremely radical "leaders" some years ago. Esperanfists, and the public want to know the facts about what is happening in the Esperanto movement. Most Esperantists want UNITY in the American Esperanto movement, in a strictly meutral organization for the promotion of Esperanto in the America of HERE and NOW - and not for the advancement of Utopias and totalitarian schemes for the future. As INDIVIDUALS we may hold to any personal belief, and all are welcome as members of EANA; but as the central ORGANIZATION for the promotion of Esperanto in America, we cannot afford organizational infiltration, schism, division, etc, if we are to advance Esperanto among sound elements of our population. Let's all get behind the effort for UNITY through membership and support for EANA. Due to our move to Portland, and matters needing attention for the coming season, there will be no EANA Congress this summer of 1963. The time usually devoted to a Congress will be used to plan for solid achieve- ment in 1964. We believe that facts and discussion in our magazine, of plans for unification in our American movement, during the Fall and Winter just ahead, will lead to fruitfull meetings in 1964. You will need the American Esperanto Magazine as never before during the year just ahead. We suggest that you check NOW on your renewal date, and see to it that you do not miss a single issue from now on. In the spirit of TRUTH and UNITY for Esperantists everywhere, we again thank all Esperantists of good will who are so loyally main- «o taining their memberships and interest in EANA. NOTE: If your renewal is due at this time (see date stamped tL" at left), send in your $5 now (or $10 as Patron Member), and we will extend your membership for one & one- half years, to help compensate for missing issues of AE during our removal to Portland. ESPERANTO BOOK SERVICE OF EANA For an important organizational reason, and to provide better all around services by EANA, the Book Service of the Association was left in the East under the capable management of Myron Mychajliw in Brooklyn. By so doing, we are enabled to devote more time to the magazine AE from now on. And you may be sure that our Book Service, under Myron's expert care, will now do even a better job re the handling of ALL Esperanto books of the world. Write to the following NEW address of Book Service for any books from enclosed list; and for ANY title in or about Esperanto even though it may not as yet be listed. We can assure you of best and prompt handling of your orders, and also .the lowest prices to be found anywhere. Also write for other Book Lists than this one, No. 14, 1963, enclosed herewith.
