JULIA ISBRŬCKER WILL ARRIVE IN NEW YORK ON THE EIRST QM  DECEMBER
Pinal arrangements have been made for the voyage of Julia
Isbruoker to America. This is the news we have been awaiting»
She will leave Rotterdam the 25th of November, and arrive in ,
New York by the first of Deoember. She will be in the United
States until the 1st of February.
Julia Isbruoker ha3 spent months in preparation for this
visit. She comes prepared for every manner of Esperanto pro-
motion and instruction. She is also interested in talks and
meetings on "World Federation". Julia Isbruoker Is undoubt-
edly the most outstanding woman Esperantist in ths world today.
This visit is an unusual opportunity for eaoh and every one of
us. We must make the most of it» Wide-spread arrangements
for her, will spell greatly increased interest in Esperanto
wherever she appears.
Select from the following five suggestions for programss
any one of which will be expertly handled by our samideaninoi
(1) Intensive Gseh Course in Esperanto, (2) Lecture on the
Netherlands, with Esperanto sound films, (3) Talks on World
Federation, (4) Lecture on the technique of the Cseh Method
of language instruction, (5) Esperanto Cseh demonstrations.
Julia. Isbruoker has a splendid command of English, but she
prefers to apeak Esperanto wherever possible.  It will be
best, for the purpose of Esperanto promotion, to arrange for
English translation of leotures and talks in Esperanto.
Tentative plans call for leotures and oourses in the Greater New York area during the first
two or three weeks of December. Localities within easy reaoh of New York may also be served in
these first few weeks. Muoh depends upon your letters and arrangements, and upon the importance
of meetings and talks which you organize for public information on Esperanto»

York, Cleveland, Detroit, middle West area; Washington, D.C., southern Atlantic coast; and, if
sufficient travel funds are found, California and points on Pacifio coast. Please send your
letters, explaining possibilities and plans, even if you wish dates other than time3 and places
whioh are mentioned here» It is imperative that we act at onoe,
Financial arrangements» Julia Isbruoker does not seek payment, but due to financial restric-
tions for Netherlanders she oannot bring money with her. The chief requiisnent is the assurance
of modest lodging and meals; possibly in someone's home. In addition, it is suggested-that eaoh
club or looallty pay #10 to her aooount at the Central Office to help with travel expenses be-
tween oities. Where the distanoe is great, perhaps some samideano will add to that amount. Any
and all aid to Julia Isbruoker will mean substantial gains .for Esperanto. Payments for oourses
or leotures, by students or audience would provide necessary travel funds.. Perhaps many plaoes
can ask a small fee for whatevsr programs are arranged.

NEW LEAFLETS AVAILABLE
The article "How Can Colleges Promote Inter-
national Understanding" has been made into an
effective four-page leaflet for educators. We
suggest that all members send a oopy, with per-
sonal note, to college faoulty friends, and to
schoolmen generally. 15o a doz., #1 a hundred.
1947 CONGRESS PICTURES
Chief Petty Officer Karl Anderson took some
professional-quality photos of the 1947 EANA
Congress group. They are available from AE in
two sizes end three posess 3 3/2x5 (on stone steps
before Lodge, or in assembly hall), 5x7 (at
dinner on veranda» or in assembly hall). Small
size, 15o each. Large size, 25c. Chief Anderson
donates all proceeds from photos to EANA.
U.N. PETITION CAMPAIGN
All signed petitions should henceforth be
sent directly to the EANA Central Office in New
York. Because of other promotion activities,
which are not connected with, and not officially
approved by EANA, G-lenn Turner has resigned his
post as Chairman of the UNO Campaign Committee.
New supplies of Petition may be received from
the Central Office. Please include some small
amount to pay for postage and printing.
ESPERANTO IN CONGRESSIONAL RECORD
See page 87 in Sep-Oot issue of AE for story
(in Esperanto) about Congressman C. Jasper Bell
of Missouri, M. M. Villareal, and article in
"Congressional Record" touching upon the problem
of Esperanto in the United Nations. This artiole,
reprinted with the consent, and under the free
franking privilege of Congressman Bell, is now
available from AE. They are already in sealed
envelopes, with "United Nations Language Prob-
lem..." printed on the envelope. They need only
be addressed and mailed» entirely free of postage.
